Is one particular site slow to load?

If it's just one site there's a good chance that it's a traffic issue with the connection on the host that runs that particular site.  They have bandwidth limits just like everyone else and when they receive a large influx of traffic they will slow down.

Are some sites fast while others see slow to load?

The Internet is really just a traffic system and it helps to think of it like a highway system.  When traffic is thick it takes a while to get anywhere and sometimes the traffic is so thick on some parts of the internet that it slows down to a crawl. 

Is the entire Internet slow?

This a tricky one, there are a lot of things that come into play when it seems like your entire connection speed is limited.  It could be that some of the above traffic problems are occuring or it could be something local on your machine, such as a Virus or Spyware, click here to find out more about that. 

What can I do?

First, you should run a speed test to verify that it is your connection speed and not a local computer problem like a virus or spyware application.  You can do that here; click the Chicago Link and compare the results to your the speeds you should be getting based on your monthly package.

Next, you want to make sure that you have an up to date antivirus and antispyware application installed on your computer.  The traffic generated by a virus or spyware can greatly affect your connection.  This the easiest troubleshooting you can do, just make sure updates get done and run regular scans.
